The history of the CHD Clinique Hygiène Dentaire Bessières, in Lausanne
The first dental hygiene clinic was opened in Geneva. Patients soon expressed the need for a dental clinic closer to home. Since then, five other clinics have opened: another in Geneva, two in Lausanne, one in Meyrin and one in Yverdon.

How quick is it to get an appointment with a dentist at your clinic?

What happens during a scaling session at a dental clinic?
When you come to the Bessières dental center in Lausanne for a scaling treatment, you’ll be greeted on arrival and taken care of by your dental hygienist.
Once you’re comfortably seated, the hygienist performs ultrasonic and manual scaling of your teeth, finishing with a polish to prevent tartar build-up as far as possible.

Your treated cavity: what you need to know
In the event of a cavity, your dentist will carry out an initial assessment to identify the extent of the decay and suggest the appropriate treatment.
Caries is treated differently depending on its stage of development: shallow caries can “simply” be remineralized, and in no case requires irreversible, invasive treatment. Treatment of decay that has reached the dentin, on the other hand, generally requires cleaning of the infected areas and reconstruction of the tooth, using composite resin sculptures in particular, while decay that has reached the nerve of the tooth requires root treatment followed by indirect reconstruction, such as an onlay, an endocrown, or even a crown in the most extreme cases.
