Does the Clinique d’Hygiène Dentaire de Lausanne use Invisalign?
At the Clinique Hygiène Dentaire de Lausanne, we use all the latest technologies to provide you with the best possible care. For your orthodontic treatment, we will be able to offer you the Invisalign solution, if your situation allows. Ask your orthodontist to find out more about your eligibility for Invisalign treatment.
Which orthodontic treatment is available for adults in Lausanne?
At CHD, when you make an appointment with one of our orthodontists, he or she will recommend the treatment best suited to your situation. For adults, there is a virtually invisible orthodontic solution that can correct misalignment of your teeth and enhance your smile: Invisalign aligners.
However, if your situation does not allow you to wear Invisalign aligners, we can also offer you other alternatives, including fixed metal, resin or ceramic “ring” braces, or dental veneers.
What kind of orthodontic treatment is available for children in Lausanne?
The most common orthodontic treatment for children involves the fitting of fixed braces. There are two distinct techniques: the classic method, in which the brackets are placed on the outside of the teeth (and are therefore visible), or the lingual technique, in which the brackets are placed on the inside of the teeth and are therefore completely hidden.
Depending on the patient’s case, it is also possible to consider fitting Invisalign aligners. Ask your orthodontist about the best solution for your child or teenager.
When should I visit an orthodontic clinic ?
As an adult, consult an orthodontist if you feel the need, i.e. if you are bothered by a misalignment of your teeth, whether for aesthetic reasons or for your oral health.
For children, it is advisable to see an orthodontist from an early age, around 6. At this age, there is still time to identify a possible problem and start specific treatment. Otherwise, most orthodontic treatment for children begins between the ages of 6 and 10.
Invisalign and transparent aligners in video :
Find out all you need to know about Invisalign and clear aligners! This video explains how these innovative devices discreetly correct the alignment of your teeth, while offering unrivalled comfort and perfect aesthetics.
Invisalign can treat a variety of problems, such as overlaps, gaps between teeth or mild to moderate malocclusions. You’ll also find maintenance tips, the key stages of treatment and all the benefits of this orthodontic option for optimum results.
What are the different types of braces?
When you embark on orthodontic treatment, your orthodontist will often offer you two alternatives:
- Traditional braces consist of placing brackets on each tooth and connecting them together to correct their alignment;
- Invisalign: transparent, virtually invisible aligners that straighten your teeth as the treatment progresses.
What are the stages in orthodontic treatment?
Orthodontics is a treatment that takes place over time. When you decide to start orthodontic treatment, you will have to see your orthodontist several times, in particular to :
- An initial meeting to determine your needs and the most appropriate solution for your situation;
- The design of the appliance selected at the preparatory meeting;
- Fitting the appliance and starting treatment;
- Follow-up appointments to check on the continuity of treatment and adapt it as necessary;
- A final appointment to remove the appliance (particularly in the case of braces);
- A check-up appointment to ensure that the treatment has worked according to the original plan.
How long does orthodontic treatment at CHD Lausanne last?
The duration of orthodontic treatment varies greatly and generally depends on the complexity of the treatment to be carried out. The more complex the correction, the longer the treatment.
How much does orthodontic treatment cost?
The cost of orthodontic treatment is difficult to estimate in detail because it depends on the complexity of the dental alignment to be achieved, the duration of the treatment, the appliance and material you choose, etc.
You should generally expect to pay between CHF 2,500 and CHF 9,500 for adult orthodontic treatment, and between CHF 2,500 and CHF 8,500 for children.
